WHO: Wine and animal lovers of all ages will converge upon Hudson, Ohio to raise money for animal welfare in Summit County.

WHAT: The fourth annual Hudson Wine Festival, a benefit for Pawsibilities: The Humane Society of Greater Akron, featuring the Paws on Parade Kick-Off Event to benefit Hattie Larlham Doggie Day Care & Boarding

WHEN: *July 15, Wine & Wags VIP Preview Party 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

*July 16, Paws on Parade – Registration 9:00 a.m., Parade 10:00 a.m.,

Festival 1:00 – 9:00 p.m.

*July 17, Festival 1:00 – 6:00 p.m.

WHERE: 101 Village Way – adjacent to the Hudson Library & Historical Society in the First & Main Shopping District

WHY: Summit Charitable Events Foundation has partnered with Pawsibilities, the Humane Society of Greater Akron (HSGA) to hold the fourth annual Hudson Wine Festival July 15 -17, 2011.

The event will showcase fine wines from local, national and international producers. Guests will enjoy musical entertainment, delectable food from Nosh Eatery & Creative Catering as well as wine education seminars, artists and exhibitors along with raffles throughout the weekend. Adoptable pets from the Humane Society will also be on site and leashed pets are welcome! Festivities kick off at 10:00 a.m. with the Paws on Parade event, coordinated by Hattie Larlham Doggie Day Care & Boarding.

In addition, the Wine & Wags VIP Preview Party will be held Friday, July 15 at 6:00 p.m. at Lake Forest Country Club where guests will be treated to mouth-watering hors d’oeuvres, along with premium wine tastings, entertainment and a silent auction. VIP tickets are $90 in advance and $100 at the door and include a weekend pass for the festival.

Hudson Wine Festival tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door and include 10 tastings and a souvenir wine glass. Additional tastings are 10 for $5 at the event. Weekend passes are available for $30 in advance and $35 at the door. Wines sampled on site will be available for purchase through all Discount Drug Mart locations in Northeast Ohio.

Hudson, Ohio (March 17, 2011) – Summit Charitable Events Foundation is pleased to announce the fourth annual Hudson Wine Festival, a benefit for Pawsibilities^®, The Humane Society of Greater Akron.

The Hudson Wine Festival will showcase over 200 wines from local, national and international producers. Guests will enjoy musical entertainment, delectable food, wine education seminars, artists and retail vendors along with various raffles throughout the weekend.

“We are excited to once again partner with Summit Charitable Events Foundation and First & Main in our continued efforts to rescue and find homes for abandoned, neglected and injured animals in our area.” said Karen Hackenberry, Executive Director for Pawsibilities^®, The Humane Society of Greater Akron.

The Hudson Wine Festival will take place Saturday, July 16 from 1 – 9 p.m. and Sunday, July 17 from 1 –6 p.m. along Village Way in the beautiful First & Main shopping district. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door and include 10 tastings and a souvenir wine glass. Additional tastings are 10 for $5 at the event.

New this year is the “Paws on Parade” kick-off event to be held on Saturday, July 16 from 10 a.m. to Noon. Coordinated by the Hattie Larlham Doggie Daycare & Boarding, dogs and their owners will have the opportunity to prance through downtown Hudson as well as enter contests for best costume, look-a-like, cutest dog and best dog trick. “We are excited to partner with SCEF and Pawsibilities to kick-off this annual festival in a big way,” said Helen Herold, Event Director for Hattie Larlham. “Our partnership with both of these organizations will benefit everyone involved and enhance this outstanding event.”

Registration for the Paws on Parade event begins April 1^st via the event website as well as in person at the Hattie Larlham Doggie Daycare facility located on Twinsburg Road.
