About Hudson Wine Festival

What is the Hudson Wine Festival

Presented by Summit Charitable Events Foundation, the fourth annual Hudson Wine Festival will take place July 16 & 17, 2011 and will benefit area non profits including Pawsibilities, The Humane Society of Greater Akron (HSGA) and Hattie Larlham Doggie Day Care & Boarding.

Held under tents along Village Way in the First & Main shopping district, the Hudson Wine Festival will showcase over 250 wines from local, national and international producers. Guests will also enjoy musical entertainment, delectable foods, seminars, a variety of local artists and raffles throughout the weekend.

Retail vendors will be located throughout the event site and will offer a variety of products and services that are animal, wine and community oriented. In addition, the HSGA will coordinate an adopt-a-thon on site and Hattie Larlham will host the Paws on Parade kick off from 10 – 12 pm on Saturday, July 16th to kick off the festival. The TLC Child Development Center Children’s Activities Tent will also be open daily to round out the family experience.

The Hudson Wine Festival has raised over $35,000 for the HSGA since it’s inception in 2008 and attracts over 5,000 people annually.

Purpose of the Hudson Wine Festival

The purpose of the Hudson Wine Festival is to increase awareness and support for Pawsibilities, The Humane Society of Greater Akron, a private, non-profit organization that rescues, rehabilitates and finds homes for animals that are victims of cruelty, abandonment, injury and illness in Summit County. The HSGA currently has over 350 animals in its care and placed over 1700 animals into loving homes in 2010.

Additionally, Hattie Larlham Doggie Day Care & Boarding is a Hattie Larlham vocational program for adults with disabilities. These services provide more than just dog day care, overnight boarding or grooming; they provide people with disabilities the opportunity to learn, grow and contribute to their communities.
